God of War 2018 video game sold more than 23 million units, making it among the best-selling games of all time

God of War (2018) was already a huge hit when it came out on PS4 but its arrival on PC appears to have boosted sales significantly. After its PC release, the game had sold more than 18 million units, and according to Sony’s latest earnings results, it appears to have sold over 23 million units.

In addition to this being an extremely positive sign for Sony, it also reaffirms their commitment to bring some of their most popular IPs to PC. In addition to juggernauts like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Mario Kart, the game is now among the 30 most successful video games of all time. This is pretty impressive for a first-party game that isn’t a Nintendo title, as these kinds of numbers are usually reserved for third-party games like Call of Duty, GTA, and Nintendo games.

Compared to The Last of Us Part II, Sony’s other major first-party releases have only managed to reach the 10 million mark as of June 2022. With a release on PC, God of War (2018) has become one of Sony’s most highly-rated games, crossing the 20 million mark in sales. There is no doubt that Sony will be interested in taking advantage of the PC market by adding more ports to its devices.

In addition to The Last of Us Part I, a remake of the original game will be released soon. While the release date of the game has not been announced, it is likely to coincide with The Last of Us HBO’s first season, which airs on January 15, 2023.

The arrival of Bloodborne on the PC platform has been one of the biggest topics of discussion within the PlayStation-PC community. Since its release, fans have been clamoring for the game to come to PC, calling it one of the greatest hits of the PS4 era. Neither FromSoftware nor Sony have yet confirmed a Bloodborne PC release, but fans remain hopeful. Given how well the PlayStation has done on PC, it is likely that SIE will consider a Bloodborne PC release.
